'ACCURACY' Review by Aaron Smith

Sometimes people complain of poor accuracy. Typically, when new, automatic movements will be set to run fast at the factory because they tend to slow down after a few weeks of use. I own three Orient watches with an automatic movement and after their breaking in period all are now keeping time to within 10 seconds per day.
I have a few thoughts on accuracy. You have to ask yourself how accurate does your watch need to be? If it is running 10 or 20 seconds fast per day then set it one minute slow and you will only need to re-set it once every week or two when it has advanced to one minute fast. If you need more accuracy then, unless you are willing to pay at least five times as much for a swiss watch, then buy a quartz. Orient Mako has good time accuracy, especially for the price you pay.

'The more you know' Review by Rob Buckner

My parents got me this watch as a graduation gift and it thought it wasn't too bad. I like the look but I preferred a Nixon watch. Until I researched the brand and found out that japanese movement is the closest thing to a swiss movement. This is my first watch, well 2nd to be exact but after doing some research I realized that some brands use really bad quality movements so this one would be the real one, and yeah now that I know more I'm glad my parents picked this one out.

Gotta admit this is a very nice looking watch. It feels nice on my wrist and its lighter than I thought. I used the 30% coupon code to save myself some money and it came with a free watch... It was a great gift. Chris Reed!

Blackout watches are hard to read but thanks to the lume indicators I can see the time clearly.

The Ray Raven has got to be one of the sexiest divers yet. The quality of the movement is superb and everything about this watch is flawless.

'appearance is quite a delight' Review by Frank

Shipping was fast! The Ray Raven arrived yesterday evening! I have to say it is awesome! I sized up the bracelet last night and am wearing it even now. With my experience with my blue and yellow Mako's, I wanted an easier rotating bezel which meant removing the bezel and taking out the rubber ring. However, I now see that the Ray does not have the rubber ring, but the bezel is actually machined to a tighter tolerance. So, while the bezel is a little stiff to rotate, it is actually more mechanically "engaging" than the Mako's. I can get used to this.

The appearance is quite a delight. The flat black color of the dial really allows the hands and markers "pop" out especially since the markers are raised and bordered. Amazingly, they practically give the impression that they glow even in a lit room. I really enjoy the black day and date wheels giving a further "clean" look to the dial. Of course, I am familiar with the water resistance of the Mako, so I already took a shower and did some dishes while wearing it.

The Raven is such a unique contrast to the rest of my watch collection being all black that I am greatly pleased especially since other all black dive watches are either much more expensive, or don't offer similar qualities as the Raven right out of the box. I was researching having another dive watch modified, but the cost was quickly adding up beyond the stock Raven. I can't wait to try the Raven on a black shark mesh bracelet!

Thanks for offering such a fantastic product. I have such differentiated options with my Makos (blue and yellow) and the Ray Raven that Orient Watches remain a staple watch product line in my wearing rotation.
