View the 2ER00002DI had never been much of a watch wearer for most of my life, and I honestly had not heard of the Orient Watch Company until a few weeks ago, when a friend recommended them to me.

I had received a Citizen Skyhawk AT as a graduation present a few months prior, but it was too large and complicated for me, and never
wore it. I found I prefer the diver style, and after some research and shopping around on the internet, having originally been leaning towards a blue Mako (per said friend's urging), I finally decided to go with the blue 100m sub,
2ER00002D, instead.

A few days later, a box came to my door, and my enthusiasm for quality watches finally began. Opening the hinged wooden gift box that held my new timepiece was like a hundred Christmas mornings rolled into one; the anticipation had given way to awe at the fine craftsmanship. It now never leaves my wrist, the subtle lume keeping me company on those sleepless nights. I never got many looks with my Skyhawk, but now everyone wants to see my Orient! I already have my eyes on a vintage SK diver as my next Orient, and have a Mako on my list as well.

100 years of watchmaking without such extraneous advertising and publicity as other "name" brands just proves that Orient survives on the quality and accuracy of its offerings, and in such allows for the affordable price that we are more than happy to pay. I commend Orient on keeping their movements in-house, and for remaining true to the lost art of mechanical timekeeping. So thank you, Orient, for fueling my love for watches. Keep on tickin' !
